Haffner earns PhD and tenure-track position at UWEC
Matt Haffner, my first PhD student, graduates this week from OSU Geography. Matt, I mean Dr. Haffner, will soon start as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Matt did a tremendous job throughout his doctoral program. His three-article dissertation was well crafted and has already resulted in two publications (in the Geographical Review and Transactions in GIS) and another in review. His research and teaching is in the area of GIScience, urban geography, big spatial data, and location-based social media, which are hot topics now and will continue to be in the foreseeable future. The future is bright for Matt. Congratulations!
