SWAAG Meeting in Denton, Texas

The Southwest Division of the American Association of Geographers held its annual conference this past Thursday and Friday. Oklahoma State Geography had a great showing with five faculty and eight students (including Matt Haffner and Emily Ellis) in attendance. It was another great fall meeting.

Specifically, I gave a presentation entitled "Assessing relationships between spaceborne radar and airborne lidar in the estimation of urban built-up volume: a project overview and preliminary results" on Friday morning. This talk, co-authored by my departmental colleague Amy Frazier and our NASA JPL collaborator Son Nghiem, discussed our summer 2016 project funded by NASA Oklahoma EPSCoR. Several graduate students that worked on the project gave presentations on their findings in our 'Innovative Methods' presentation session. Other attendees gave talks in other sessions or presented posters.
