Another great REP Conference
At the tail end of last week the Race, Ethnicity, and Place (REP) Conference was held in Kent, Ohio. It was a great meeting with interesting presentations, panels, and guest speakers. It also provided great opportunities to socialize with other conference goers. My departmental colleagues, Dr. Rebecca Sheehan and Dr. Emily Fekete, also attended as did recent OSU MS graduate Jordan Brasher (see photos below).
I presented my work (co-authored by Matt Patton) about whiteness in the microbrewing industry as reflected by the content on brewery and beer labels. For more details on the paper, see here.
Thanks to John Frazier (Binghamton University) and Dave Kaplan (Kent State University) for all of their efforts organizing a great meeting!
