Last week I was able to visit my undergraduate alma mater for the first time since I graduated. I was invited to the Bond Symposium to give a talk, 'It's a big world out there: How my SUNY Cortland experience helped carve a path from being a first-generation college student to a globally engaged scholar', as an alum. This was an incredible experience to reflect on my work and my career trajectory. I also was able to meet with previous professors that impacted me and met with current ones hired since I departed. I was beyond impressed by the research talks and posters given by the current undergraduate students.
