Although much of my research is focused on remote sensing and GIS applications, I especially have enjoyed research in the areas of geography and GIS education. A colleague in the Faculty of Education at the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (Toledo campus) invited me to share my experiences teaching primary school students using hands-on play and geospatial technologies. I visited the Toledo campus to give a talk, 'Mejorar la enseñanza de la geografía con juegos prácticos y tecnologías geoespaciales [Enhancing geography instruction with hands-on play and geospatial technologies]', to education majors. I also was able to observe student presentations about their proposed classroom approaches to best engage young minds.
