#mapathonWMU for 2018 #geoweek

Around 60 students, faculty, staff, and the public attended #mapathonWMU on GIS Day (Nov-14) in the middle of Geography Awareness Week held on the Western Michigan University campus. Participants contributed data to OpenStreetMap via the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOTOSM) project tasks. We focused on projects in Algeria and the Philippines. In total, we contributed over 18,000 edits of which over 2,700 were new buildings.
