Mapathon event a success!
The Department of Geography and the Maps & Spatial Data Division of Edmon Low Library co-organized in collaboration with the Geography Club (which is also a YouthMappers chapter) and the Forum for Geography Graduate (FoGG) students a mapathon event on the evening of November 10th form 5-10pm. Mappers from across campus attended and contributed edits to OpenStreetMap, specifically the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team tasks in Mexico City, Puerto Rico, and elsewhere. The event was our kickoff to Geography Awareness Week or #GeoWeek. We had over 50 participants throughout the night and around 8 attendees mapped for all 5 hours!
