Several co-authors and I have published a manuscript entitled 'Estimating home and work population using lidar-derived building volumes' in the International Journal of Remote Sensing. This research was conducted under the summer 2016 'Identifying and Quantifying Urban Change with Remote Sensing and GIS' project funded by the Oklahoma NASA Space Grant Consortium/NASA EPSCoR (see original news post here). Specifically, we examined the relationship between between volume (lidar-estimated) and work-home population figures across 4 Texas cities. The findings are promising.
